The Boundary Museum Society held an open house in the Black Hawk Livery Exhibition Building on
August 6th to launch their first digital collection management project, Bob’s Tool Room, a collection of over 1,000 non motorized hand tools deeded to the Boundary Museum by the DeMaertelaere family that the public will be able to enjoy via a new interactive visual program being designed by Les Johnson, volunteer IT consultant and museum enthusiast.
The Museum is very proud on the partnership with the Boundary Woodworkers Guild who took on building the display to showcase the many tools. With many hands and summer student funding from Young Canada Works, the new exhibit is nearly completion.
Visitors have expressed their amazement having never seen a collection of this magnitude under one organization. Thank you to everyone who worked alongside the lead team under David Bevan’s guidance, including Peter Kootchein, Dan McLean, Bob McTavish, Lee Derhousoff and summer student Emma Chapman.
